Hi Julia!

You are so wonderfully creative, as always. It is a joy to see all the things that you make. The quilt is getting so big, you must be finished soon? Or do you need a lot more fabrics for the size you want? I LOVE the shed! <3 So cute with the red color and window and all!

It was amusing to read your thoughts on July, as I have been having a deep internal (and external with my partner) discussion about my relationship with July these lasts weeks (I wrote about it in my blog). Or my lack of relationship, you. could say. I very much like to live with the seasons, and feel like I have a sense of them all, but when it comes to summer it's more June and August for me. For now at least. Hopefully I will build a good relationship with July with time... :)

I am so sorry to read about the fires. I hope you have had lots of rain by now. It is very dry here as well, I am keeping an eye on the pines at the forest edge from my kitchen window and by each day they are more and more orange than green. I cross my fingers for a few days for us as well, because it is not normal with such a dry July as this has been around here.

Hope you are doing well and keep writing. My goal for the fall is to get better at it myself.

Oh! And I can't wait for fall! I love it so much! <3

Hi Camilla,

Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts, kind words and kindred take on the month of July (send along your blog here! Are you on Substack?) <3

It is so unnerving living near conifers with so much kindling on the forest floor when there has been little rain. We thankfully have had a lot of rain and the forest fire is under control. Hopefully the same foggy, wet weather drifts to your side of the Atlantic ASAP!!

The quilt will probably still take me years - I spend months not touching it and it’s still quite away from actually covering a bed!

Sending you fog and rain! Julia

Julia! So glad to hear you've had rain and the forest fire is under control. :) We are expecting a small sprinkle of rain on Tuesday, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed it will be a big shower! It is so strange to live in the north and seeing the forest turn yellow in July/August..

How do you feel about taking on such a big project as you quilting project? I imagine it feels like such a meaningful thing to do, as the quilt will grow and change as you do. On the other hand I am not sure I would have the patience, if you understand?

My blog is on wordpress (wildwoodswhispers.wordpress.com). I've thought about changing it, and looked into a few norwegian blogging sites, but I can't find anything that seems to suit me. I've looked at substack too, because I follow a lot of writers there, but then... well, I haven't written often enough for it to be worth the job and I have hardly any readers (maybe because I'm not on instagram..?) :) Maybe I will move with time.
